Auretta is a Clinical Psychologist and founder of ASK Psychology. She has a doctorate degree in clinical psychology and has experience providing psychological services to adults, adolescents and children.
In line with her four-year doctoral research, her expertise lies in the area of posttraumatic stress disorder and other anxiety related disorders (e.g., social anxiety, separation anxiety, phobias, OCD). She also has a breadth of experience with other mental issues including depression, borderline personality disorder, and gender diversity (please see full list below).
She is trained and skilled to deliver a range of evidence-based psychological treatments including compassion-focused approaches, mindfulness-based techniques, cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, neuropsychotherapy (especially for fear-related disorders), acceptance and commitment therapy, gradual exposure therapy, exposure and relapse prevention, schema therapy and interpersonal therapy. Her approach is to work collaboratively with you and will tailor these therapies to meet your strengths and needs.
Her doctoral research investigated the effectiveness of an eight-week compassion-oriented and mindfulness-based exposure therapy program for individuals with posttraumatic stress symptoms, and she continues to work in this research area.
Auretta has limited appointments available in-person and via telehealth.
