
Dr. Auretta Kummar is a highly qualified clinical psychologist and the founder of ASK Psychology Fremantle. She holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and specializes in providing evidence-based psychological services to adults, adolescents, and children. Her expertise revolves around Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and a variety of anxiety-related disorders, including social anxiety, separation anxiety, phobias, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Auretta also offers mental health support for a range of concerns such as anxiety, depression, borderline personality disorder, and gender diversity (see full list below).
She is trained in delivering a diverse array of evidence-based psychological treatments, incorporating compassion-focused approaches, mindfulness-based techniques, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), gradual exposure therapy, Schema therapy, and EMDR therapy.
Having completed her training in both the Introductory and Advanced Levels of EMDR, Auretta is a Full Member of the EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA). Her approach is collaborative and customized, focusing on each client’s strengths, needs, and treatment goals to facilitate meaningful and sustainable change.
Auretta’s doctoral research explored the effects of an eight-week compassion-focused, mindfulness-based exposure therapy program for individuals experiencing posttraumatic stress symptoms (PTSD)—a field she continues to be actively involved in, both clinically and academically.
Currently, Auretta is not accepting new clients and is available for booking only for existing clients. Her available hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 10 am to 5 pm.
